Les Grappes – Weinseller Journal 23

June 19, 2021

Back in February this year, Chandra Kurt (www.chandrakurt.com) and I sat down to talk about a new project she had in mind: create a series of stories that trace the diversity and variety of wines and grapes in Switzerland. When it comes to wine – I’m game 😊

Five Months later, and here we are in the WeinSeller Journal 23 (www.weinsellerjournal.ch) with a panel that was really important to me: Discover Les Grappes (The grapes in French) but also the really crucial process of how wine is even made, with a bit of comic sauce added to it.

Chandra penned her first article on this new series, on the region of Wallis, Switzerland’s largest wine producing region, and a focus on Heida, a subtly flavored white wine. The aim was to get readers of all ages to discover this variety, not only with an in-depth article, but with some illustrations to convey a visual message to the subject.

It was a fantastic opportunity to dwell into a subject that I enjoy discovering and working together with Chandra on this concept was a blast. Wine is popular, so it is a challenge to take a new angle in word and art.

So here we are – the start of the Les Grappes – curious to see what comes up next 😉
