RIP Kentaro Miura

Kentaro Miura has passed away.
The famed mangaka of the Berserk series suffered a heart attack on the 6th of May 2021 at age 54.
As an artist you always need to balance style with preference with technique. Some people simply do not like the dark fantasy style that Beserk has nor the violence it portrayed, but you need to put your preferences to the side and pay due to the more than 8’000 pages of mind-blowing black and white illustration that Kentaro Miura created in his lifetime. The intricacy of the story, the detail and depth, will leave an enduring mark not only on the genre but on those that strive to give that same depth to their black and white illustrations that he managed to induce in his work.
